The two of us
Frisky Girl Farm is Ellen Scheffer and Ashley Wilson — two first-generation farmers who met through a mutual friend and farmed in urban Seattle before moving to North Bend in 2019 for more land. Ashley came with a Master Gardener certification, a Master Composter badge, and a WSU certificate in Organic Agriculture; Ellen came up on sustainable farms across the country. Both decided early they would not get stuck on the way things are supposed to be done.
Their first full season, 2020, tried hard to stop them. The wash station was destroyed. The delivery van caught fire on the very first CSA delivery day. A hailstorm flattened the field. And then the community showed up — a stranger who found them on Instagram gifted them a replacement van, and they planted more, not less.
Today they farm five acres plus a two-acre u-pick patch, supply around 200 CSA members and a handful of local restaurants, and keep the self-serve stand open daily from May through November. For 2026 they are weaving in grains, oats, flour, eggs, mushrooms, and fruit from neighboring farms — a fuller local food share, built the way they wanted it.
Ellen & Ashley, owners
We love that our farm stand has become a safe place for the community to get fresh vegetables and flowers and see them growing in the field while they shop.
